Kazutaka Sugitani, a sculptor from Shiga Prefecture, creates his art works by shaping clay forms from the source of his daily casual drawings and notes and firing them in a ceramic kiln.

The simplified forms are lined up in a disorderly manner in an expression of animals and worldviews that do not seem to exist anywhere else. The relationship between the work and the viewer, which the viewer thinks about through his or her own viewing experience, becomes communication between the artist and the viewer, and gives meaning to the art work.
