AKI Gallery, founded in 2002, was devoted to promote Taiwan contemporary art. By participating in international art fairs, collaborating with international galleries, curators, art institutions, and museums to build a connection between Taiwan contemporary art and global art market.
AKI Gallery is known as a gallery focusing on discovering talented emerging contemporary artists in the beginning, and then started to build up its own brand concept step by step. Starting from 2006, a main strategy toward international was adopted. With the help of international curator , AKI Gallery began to do theme-oriented exhibitions such as “German contemporary art ” , photograph exhibition of masters like CHANG, Chao-Tang and Kitai Kazuo and Media art exhibition, etc. As a result, gallery's representative artists were able to join biennale and important museums exhibitions.
At the year of 2008, AKI Gallery was awarded as one of the “Top 10 most influential galleries in Asia " The owner of AKI Gallery, Rick WANG, was elected as the chairman of Taiwan Art Gallery Association and also the first chairman of Asia Pacific Art Gallery Association Alliance in 2015, who then played a key role in integrating and developing Asia pacific Art market , and achieving the co-prosperity of Taiwan contemporary art in Asian pacific region , thus successfully set up a brand new global strategy for the gallery .
