studio J

In 2001, with a vision, if not any real experience, I established an art space. This year, it will turn 15 years old. In this length of time, just as a baby will grow into a junior high school student, the young artists who first exhibited at studio J have matured and become established. studio J has also grown up. There have been moments of adolescent rebellion, as well as leaps in development. Times of hiatus have enabled reflection. As the gallery has evolved, so have I as a person. The result of all this is a resolution to continue it for as long as possible. Art often raises questions, but provides no easy answers or quick solutions. It is for this reason that I respect it and am thankful to be involved in it.
